One of the top tourist destination nowadays in winter time is Armenia. Therefore the Airport here in Yerevan is now always busy.
Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan was built in the year of 1961 and it's last big renovation was finished on 2007 when they opened the new Airport Terminal though it is always undergo on a small renovation yearly.
The said airport has now a modern and beautiful design in the interior and exterior, but how much more if the renovation start again?
Zvartnots International airport has now new Master Plan for the year 2018-2022 and it is now on the stage of obligatory concessions on approving the said master plan.
If the master plan and the cost estimate is approved by the government, the renovation will covers the following:
- Repairing of the Track with the 2850 meters long and 45 meters wide section of the runway, repair of the asphalt with the thick of 9 cm and installation of drainage system.
Project cost estimate: $ 9,000,000.00
- Repair of the Taxiway.
Project cost estimate: $ 2,500,000.00
- Partition Integrated Security System covering the 12 km perimeter wall with the Fiber Optic Cable which detects any movements and dangerous action.
Project cost estimate: $ 1,500,000.00
- Modernization of fuel station.
Project cost estimate: $1,000,000.00
Those are just few work in the project and there are more works included on it, like complying to the international regulatory standard. etc.
We are expecting that this project will gonna make the Airport more beautiful and modern like other famous high standard airport in the world.
